Using familiar figures from Art History, Rothwell rearranges them in unlikely settings, or hides them in figure-ground ambiguities. Her use of visual puns leaves one searching in each multilayered etching, not wanting to miss any of the references.

The first seven listed were created as part of an Art History Mysteries series while the next six all contain steps so are suited to be in the Steps series.

There are "Art References" available for all etchings which contain familiar figures from artists of the past. These will be sent with each etching purchased.
